RORY PECK AWARDS - FINALISTS 2015
Awards, sponsored by Sony, is dominated by local freelancers. Five of this year's nine finalists are local freelance cameramen and video journalists covering events in their own countries.
The Rory Peck Awards 2015 honour work filmed by Iraqi, Pakistani, Palestinian, Syrian, Italian, British and French freelance finalists. Entries from inside conflicts in the Middle East feature prominently, alongside coverage from the frontlines of Eastern Ukraine, and shocking human stories uncovered in Pakistan and the Philippines.
"We are delighted to have so many local freelancers represented at this year's Rory Peck Awards", said Tina Carr, Director of the Rory Peck Trust. "It's a sign of just how much media organisations are relying on local freelancers to provide news and images, especially from areas and situations that are hard to access. It’s also an indicator that they are producing images and journalism of the highest quality, despite living and working in some of the world’s most difficult and dangerous situations."
We love new projects!
